Thanks to all who responded .while i was editing
before posting to midrange I did a small mistake.
Please read the error as

"View or logical file YST in QS36F read-only"
there is only one file YST ,really sorry for the
confusion with two file names.
YST is physical file and doesnt ve any dependencies..I
am still wondering for the error iam receiving..
Thanks to all who responded!
Murali.

Again Iam pasting the query here
------------
Iam trying to delete 2 records from file YTS but
getting an error.I am getting the same error and don't
understand why? I have tried DFU & SQL.
Iwant to delete the 2 records in the file that start
with GDSRX11.

With SQL I am getting the following error :

delete FROM YTS WHERE F00001 like 'GDSRX11%' .

"View or logical file YST in QS36F read-only. "
But this file is nt a logical file.....

One reason I thought could be
Allow delete operation . . . . : ALWDLT *NO ...
Can some one suggest me what could be the other
reasons??
