YES The SWE License & [SWMA] swe maint plus Hdwe maint costs will be a big factor a long with others associated with multiple systems..

We are early in our process and haven't done any official pricing with all

some additional licensed programs would change the equation. We do not
have any 3rd party software issues though so that doesn't matter.

The other possibility is that when I am estimating, I am oversizing the
LPAR box.

I am sure it will all work itself out. My main question, which has been
answered, is that we should not attempt to do this ourselves.

Thanks

Maybe some of these factors are affected by his Partnerworld discounts?

Re: LPAR Question

Mark,

Then you are on target! However I would challenge your assertion that
two boxes are cheaper than one.

No. of Cabinets is same or less for LPAR
Amount of memory is same or less for LPAR
Quantity of Disks is generally the same.
Quantity of IOAs is generally the same, sometimes less.
Quanityt of Tape drives is generally the same, sometimes less.
Amount of CPW purchased is often Less

Cost of Maintenance, OS features, and support is almost Always
significantly less.

Cost of installation is the only area where LPAR is slightly higher and
that's a OTC.
