QDEX is the "AS/400 Device Exerciser Library." What that means exactly, I have no idea. The message "not waiting for a specific message" means that the job has issued a RCVMSG and is monitoring a message queue for any message rather than waiting for a reply. My guess is that it was started with the STRDEVEXR command, but when I tried to run that I got the message "converting to 64 bit RISC" before it errored out. (That should give you some idea how old this is.) You can determine where it was submitted from by doing a DSPJOBLOG OUTPUT(*PRINT) and looking for the CPI1125 message. If this is not helpful look at the timestamp and review your history log just previous to the start of this job. Hope this helps, Scott Ingvaldson AS/400 System Administrator GuideOne Insurance Group -----Original Message----- date: Tue, 21 Oct 2003 09:52:21 -0400 from: "Melinda Kitchen" <Kitchenm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> subject: QDEX After an IPL of the system we have a job running in subsystem QDVSBS with a job name of QDVMONITOR. The status is showing MSGW but when I do a "7"-display message it says "dot waiting for a specific message". Does anyone know what this job is and how I can determine where it is getting submitted from ?
