Tim,

All in all, what you describe is very appealing. I'm assuming that your
business partner is behaving with integrity and that you won't lose anything
that you currently have. The only bad thing I can think of is that there is
some information you haven't mentioned or aren't aware of regarding pricing.

Do you still have the same number of disk arms or do you have fewer,
higher-capacity drives? Are your backup options on the new machine
compatible with your current machine or will you need to convert some
backups?

When you say that you are intending to move to Websphere Development Studio,
does this mean that you are going to change your application architecture or
merely that you're changing your coding tools?

People,

We are looking at upgrading our leased 820 to a leased 810.
We would doubling memory from 1.25 gb to 3.0 gb, and doubling CPW from
370/35 to 750/750.
A total reduction in monthly lease/maintenance costs of $200-$300 is
being quoted by our business partner.

Current performance is NOT an issue, and we do not foresee the addition
of more than a few additional users in the near (1 year) future.
We are going to start using Websphere Development Studio shortly, but
don't know what kind of performance hit, if any, that will entail.

Can anyone give me some insight or reason why this would NOT be a good
option AT THIS TIME?

Thanks in advance,

Tim Kredlo

Ps.The lease vs.. purchase decision has already been made.
Pss. We are VERY happy with our current business partner
