Why can't we download and burn a CD and boot from the CD and have it do a total install on a Windows machine, without blowing away the Windows partition? Or can we? (Joe is right. Software is measured today by its lack of need for instructions. Thats why the browser interface is so successful. Hasn't it fascinated you that there's no such thing as "Netscape for Dummies"? Even dummies can't get it wrong. Linux has got to reach that degree of self installation in order to ever get traction in the desktop market. Antother question: How does Star Office on Linux work compared to how Star office works on Windows? I don't WANT to read a README file. Installing Eclipse on Windows is pretty much just running the installer. No boot floppies, nothing like that. And as Booth says, I don't even have a working floppy on that machine. But I'll give it a shot. It's not IMPOSSIBLE, just a little intimidating, especially if I DIDN'T have the experience I have, which is above and beyond that of many typical iSeries programmers. Joe
