First, when you do a save, make sure these animals are varied off, or the save behaves totally differently. And I don't mean it skips the EOM.XLS because it is currently in use. Second, when you restore the hardware pretty much has to be the same. For example, if you are running one IXS and want to upgrade to another zippier IXS it is not a simple matter of removing one board and putting in the new one. The bios and other rot are stored in that disk area reserved for it. Forgive me some lack of PC knowledge but could you take the only disk drive out of a P2 and replace the only disk drive on a P3 with it and expect it to work? The ability to upgrade this easily is a request we have submitted to IBM. No word back was given. One, I'm having some issues getting them added to our contract with our vendor - they claim that they don't have any......which I find hard to believe. Second, can I recover from the OS/400 backup or are there any other actions necessary - like reinstall Windows? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks. Michael Crump Saint-Gobain Containers 1509 S.
