RE: Any con's to getting rid of our development box and justrunningit as a partition?

If you are using a P20 machine, say a 720, for development now, and you
migrate that to a partition on an 870 (P40) system, won't your tools
need to be at P40 even if the partition has resources equivalent to the
720/P20 it's replacing?  I think that's the question regarding higher
P-tier pricing.

The LPAR doesn't change the software 'P' level. It is based on the
processor and is not affected by LPAR (s).
