I inherited a network of AS/400s (at a previous place of employment) that
used DDMFs extensively, particularly in the overnight batch runs; if
anything gave me support headaches they did.  The "plan and test very
carefully" comment should be well heeded.  They are too easily abused.

DDM is NOT designed to transfer large "blocks" of data. 

The original design point stated that it is best used to 
allow inquiry on a remote system and/or transfer smaller
files. 

There is no good way to determine where the 
"breaking point" really is with out a real live test.

You must plan and test very carefully to have a
good DDM install.
