There's also the CODE400 stuff that loads on a PC and is free.  There should
be a separate set of CD's called the Websphere Development Studio.  It would
at least give you the ability to enter CL, have some syntax checking
capability, and the ability to take the resulting file up to the iSeries to
be compiled.

There's a ton of information out in the V5R2 Info Center on the Websphere
Development Studio.  George Farr and company have been pushing this product
hard.

Ed, you can always sign on to the machine and run commands from the command
line.  What is it that you need to do that requires an editor?  Do you want
to write CL programs and call them, or just execute a list of CL commands?
If all you want to do is execute several commands, you can do this via
SBMDBJOB.  You can edit a command file via UPDDTA, or use the free tool
WRKDBF, which would be equivalent to editing a batch file with a text
editor.  You can then use SBMDBJOB to run the commands.
