The problem is that your version may not be base64 encoding the attachment data. If it appears to be, then it's something else. You may want to look at my MAILTOOL utility if that's an option. You can try it and if it works fine, and your SENDMAIL is doing base64 encoding, then there is a bug in it somewhere. MAILTOOL does all of this for you.
