Bryan, I have had problems with some pc programs not using the "normal" Windows spooler, and writing directly to the printer. I would be shocked (well maybe not...)that Win Outlook did that. I would verify a few things to stabilize the 400 side of the environment. 1. Make sure the printer device description if *lan truly does support PJL, and the manufacturer model type matches the actual printer. Not all HP printers are alike. The IBM Knowledge Base doc Support for ASCII Printers from Hewlett Packard (HP) has a list of most printers and model types to use. 2. Make sure you are up to date on print ptfs-many not in the cume ptfs, and no group yet created for printing. See docs (if "(1000)" after ptf#-then not in a cume!) V5RxMx Ptf Listing for TCP/Lan Printing V5RxMx Ptf Listing for HPT Printing V5RxMx Ptf Listing for AFP Printing and InfoPrintServer similar docs for V4RxMx.. hth jim franz ----- Original Message ----- From: "Burns, Bryan" <burnsbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2003 4:59 PM Subject: Reports assuming incorrect attributes after colliding with window sdocuments on HP printers > Problem: > Attributes change in the middle of printing.
