Pat, I don't think you'll have codepage issues, since the file transfer utility will be handling the conversions. Some of the older ones I've used allowed you to specify the conversion table you wanted to use to translate EBCDIC to ASCII. Different table to support a different resulting codepage. Pretty lo-tech, but sufficient for most since there's usually only one language on a box (for most, anyway).
