Common sense goes along way, which unfortunately, some people lack. Crossing the street to get to the other side doesnt mean crossing it when cars are coming. I've been a technican for 23 years. 14 years and 7 months of that have been on the AS/400. Doing something the right way for one person doesnt mean its the right way for another. Everyone has their own way of doing things, Thats how come we're all still learning. -----Original Message----- From: DeLong, Eric [mailto:EDeLong@Sallybeauty.com] Sent: Friday, January 31, 2003 11:31 AM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Limiting Client Access - Partial Retraction Even when the rules exist to keep us safe from our own stupidity? I've worked with some real "yahoos" that reveled in bending rules, and invariably they all take themselves out with thier "cowboy" mentality..... I suppose this may just be an example of Darwinian "natural selection". Personally, I think most people stick with what they know, and resent having to "learn how to do it right". That is the trap of speaking as if the word "secure" means the > same thing to everyone. I did that in all of these posts Pat, another trap is the assumption that everyone plays by the rules. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
