Has anyone experienced the Lexmark ipds scs/tne card for Optra T lasers.
Apparently talks to 400 via telnet 5250 printing (port 23) for the scs/tne part
or lan printing for the ipds part.
Currently access drawers 1 and 2 easily. Did a workstation customization
to get to drawers 3, 4 but no luck yet. Defined as *lan printer.
I need an operator-less environment, printing afpds reports, legal
size, in duplex, with different versions of forms in drawers 2,3,4 and 8x11 in
drawer 1. Should be no-sweat.
Someone has suggested the ipds card. The book mentions some printer language
called IDB. Online manual says can control drawers 1 - 5. If I get this card,
printer
still has to talk to pc program via parallel cable.
Currently same printer Optra 616 (without ipds) is printing similar app from
Win2000.
It has reliability problems in app, and I conviced them 400 "can do it!". At
V4r5 with
PSF/400
Anyone used this card?
