>2. Use a white background

My only suggestion would be a transparent, not white background. I know
several (many?) people that have changed their default "white" background to
be more of an off-white. 90% of the time you won't see the difference
between white and transparent background, but for that 10% you'll be happy
it's transparent.

Subject: *** ADMIN: Time for a new logo

Folks:

Although I think Eric DeLong's logo for midrange.com is pretty cool, I
think I'd like to explore the possibilities of a new one.

What I'd like is something that's a bit brighter and more open.

Here are the basic guidelines ...

1. Logo should be horizontal ... something that can fit on a web banner
type graphic (468x60)
2. Use a white background
3. Use simple colors.
4. Try to make something that can be enlarged easily.
5. Do not use any copyrighted, trade marked, or restricted images. I have
asked someone at IBM about getting permission to use an iSeries image, but
the legal beagles at IBM said no.

All submissions should be sent directly to me ... and I will be the final
arbiter of which logo gets selected.

There is, however, a prize! The person who submits the winning logo will
receive a t-shirt with the new logo on it.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.
