My suggestion regarding the use of a VARYING field might not have been clear: I was thinking of using a program-defined VARYING (maybe with a %TRIMR) field EVAL'ed into the DSPF 480-character field in the hope that the compiler would add a trailing attribute to the end of the VARYING data thus allowing the desired "insert" behavior. PDF manuals are here for V5R2: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/rzahgicprinttoc.ht m and here for V5R1: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r1/ic2924/info/rzahf/rzahfli0.htm Regards, Andy Nolen-Parkhouse > bounces@midrange.com] On Behalf Of Booth Martin > Subject: RE: DDS for DSPF WRDWRAP > > I defy anyone to learn about varying length fields on the InfoCenter. > I > went to the DDS manual, and then decided to search the manual.
