We are on V4R5
The following is the cum info.
A few later PTFs have been applied.
AUGUST 19, 2002
The latest cumulative package for Version 4 Release 5.0 is: C2169450
AUGUST 28, 2002
The latest cumulative package for Version 4 Release 5.0 is: C2169450

We are connected via TCP-IP on a Novell LAN.
Some PCs are on CA 3.2  some on CA Express 4.3.

The communications with the PCs are dropping out.
Dropout are random and even when the user is actively using the device.
The AS400 gets a CPF5140 and thinks the user powered off the PC
which is definitely not the case.

We have changed
sysval   QDEVRCYACN   from  *ENDJOB  to  *MSG.
 CHGTELNA     TIMMRKTIMO   to   600
This did not achieve much.

We have replaced the Ethernet card.
We have not changed anything lately, system settings or software
at least that we know of.
The system has been stable for the last 6 months.
Suddenly the last week we are having these drop outs.

Could this be the result of some sort of virus or other hack attack.

I found the following in the archives.
We are suddenly having exactly the same problem.
