Greetings,

I am looking for a SIMPLE lightweight XML parser to be used from RPG.

Please notice the emphasis on SIMPLE!

The parser itself can be written in any language.

The purpose is so that I can export data from our windows based Server
for use by our customer's line of business applications on the AS/400.

What I would like to do is export in an XML format. This xml will be
very straightforward with no "fancy's". It will have escape characters
in some of the tag names (where required) and will be multilevel. But
none of the other alphabet soup found when dealing with XML.

For many folks on this list, reading and parsing XML is something you
could do before your first cup of coffee in the morning.

But, many of my customers are not this "current". For a few of them,
I'm being extremely nice when I say it this way <g>. They still think
they are on a System/36.

Of course, it is even better if was free!

Or should I just write my own parser? Doing my own XML Writer class
was very simple. Reading couldn't be much harder. And I would only
have to handle what I know I am generating.

What is the opinion of the Guru's?
