I think that a third party's hardware could absolutely cause more object
damage than an IBM drive.  The third party's merely mimic IBM as best they
can, they truly have no idea of what IBM does under the covers.

Save money - have a pleasant day.

The reason that you buy an AS/400 is to get an integrated solution from one
vendor, that when it breaks, you say FIX IT, and they do.  If you want to
screw around with third party equipment, go to Windoze.  Remember what
system M$ uses!

Wow.  Thanks Kirk.

Is it possible that a 3rd party drive could be more prone than an IBM drive
to miss failures and let the software damage the object?
