Hello Simon I see what you mean. It seems we are trying to use it 'not as even thought of'. The use of dependent fields perhaps assumes a single column as the parent field. And LIKE/NLIKE would never be a value in one of these fields, it's a pattern, as the help says, against which the values are tested. All this is, of course, mere speculation.
