Thanks Mike, Will do - MAN is IBM's website search for basic facts on stuff like this FRUSTRATING... It doesn't look like it is 8mm which doesn't surprise me with that kind of capacity. I am not so concerned with that. What we have that is historical on 8mm could be restored and saved to the new media. We have one attached to a Model 830 4-Way and it really rips. I am backing up 248 GB in a full system backup in 2 Hours, 30 Minutes. It's a one cartridge backup! I as you had 3590's in a previous life and I am finding the performance of the 3581 to very close to the 3590 in terms of speed. You can buy multiple 3581's for the cost of one 3590. The only thing I do not like about 3581 is the cartridges. They are pretty flimsy compared to 3590.
