If I remember correctly, this UPS was shipped as defective by IBM.  The
particular symptom was that it did not auto power up the system after power
had been restored, without touching the button.  IBM replaced all of them
for people that complained during the warranty.

We have a 9910-080 UPS sitting around. I'd like to use it. Looked it up, as
much as I could, and it says it can be used for a 270 (originally for a
170). I've plugged it into the wall, ostensibly to charge it up. No lights,
nada. There's a sliding cover over a pushbutton, front upper-left corner.
Pressing that casues an LED to flash, then nothing.

How do I tell if it's usable?

Anyone have a manual? Or a link to one?
