hello. VR1 OF VENDR1 is a stupid sentence? Sincerely Domenico Finucci Fiditalia , Milano, 02- 4301-2494 -----Messaggio originale----- Da: Jon Paris [mailto:Jon.Paris@Partner400.com] Inviato: mercoledì 31 luglio 2002 16.27 A: midrange-l@midrange.com Oggetto: Embedded SQL problem >> Are any of the columns variable-length? Nope. I have simplified the code to this point: 01 VENDR1. 03 VR1. 05 VNID PIC X(6). 05 VNNAME PIC X(30). Procedure Division. Exec SQL Insert into VendSmall Values(:VR1) End-exec. The code above compiles. Change the "Values" clause to Values(:VENDR1.VR1) and it fails. In the "real" program I need the qualification as there is more than one VR1 entity. I have tried as some suggested wrapping the definitions in a DECLARE block - but it makes no difference.
