Delphi/400 is a product from systemobjects.com that provides some components for accessing the as/400 without messing with the APIs... Looks interesting, but extremely expensive... So far, I have been able to access records directly from the 400 via ADO & dbExpress, and both are much, much faster than ODBC. I have been using SQL to run AS/400-side apps in the middle of my Delphi job streams... I have started playing around with some code direct from IBM that allows you to directly work with Data Queues too, and plan to do a bit of 'Client-Server' style apps using the Data Queues... So far, I have been very impressed, and I am a newbie when it comes to Delphi. I have been coding RPG for over 10 years now, but the learning curve has been quite easy to overcome. Plain Delphi definitely uses ODBC. --buck _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
