Delphi/400 is a product from systemobjects.com that provides some components
for accessing the as/400 without messing with the APIs... Looks interesting,
but extremely expensive...

So far, I have been able to access records directly from the 400 via ADO &
dbExpress, and both are much, much faster than ODBC. I have been using SQL to
run AS/400-side apps in the middle of my Delphi job streams...

I have started playing around with some code direct from IBM that allows you to
directly work with Data Queues too, and plan to do a bit of 'Client-Server'
style apps using the Data Queues...

So far, I have been very impressed, and I am a newbie when it comes to Delphi.
I have been coding RPG for over 10 years now, but the learning curve has been
quite easy to overcome.

Thanks for the feedback,
David

There are two different products involved I think - Delphi doesn't know
anything about AS/400, whilst Delphi/400 has some classes to support AS/400.
Plain Delphi definitely uses ODBC.
