Network BlitzGreetings All,

Did a Model 730-to-Model 830 upgrade over the weekend. It was a load source
migration type of upgrade. We took the opportunity during this upgrade to
get rid of all the old 4 GB disk units and replace them with 17 GB 10 K
drives. We did keep some 8 GB 10 K drives in the config. Once the upgrade
was done and had a full system backup, we ran STRASPBAL based on capacity.

I have noticed that the 8 GB disk units in parity set 2 are working much
harder than the other disk units in parity sets. That tells me I need to do
balancing based on usage.

My question is, how long should the TRCASPBAL command be allowed to run and
collect usage data? Also, how much of a performance hit did the TRCASPBAL
put on your system while it was running?

Thanks!

Mike Shaw
