Steven, Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately that particular Redbook is for
the CISC machines.  All of the other Redbook for BRMS do not address the
restoring of spool files either.

Thanks again, but I am still looking for the answer.  I have posed the
question to IBM.  When I receive an answer I will add it to the archives.
