Jeff, We use Lantastic Version 8 also. For a couple of applications we run it under DOS 6.22 and it works fine. For communicating to the 400, you might try running it under Win95/98 or NT. The FTP will probably be a lot more more stable - I never could get it to work under DOS. I've just installed Lantastic under Win2000 (you need a patch to do so), but don't have much experience with it yet. We use a mix of FTP & CA/400 File Transfer to move the data to/from the 400 (V4R5) with a "Gateway" running Lantastic V8 & Netware under Win98 but we're not sending data to the IFS - just physical files. Some time ago, I tried, but did not implement in production, the WAR FTP Server and it seemed to work pretty well to allow the 400 to drive some of the process. You might want to look at that or one of the other FTP servers.
