Using data queues, I can imagine an app on the 400 that puts an entry on a DTAQ that is watched by an ODBC app on the PC, which sends data and then puts an entry on another DTAQ that is watched by the first 400 app. Conceptually, I suppose this is like that ODBCSock item someone mentioned - sounds cool! ODBC is MS' implementation of the Open??? CLI specification. Not found in IBM land. Alternatives include JDBC and something relatively new, I think, called DataJoiner. The latter calls for an NT or other DB2 machine (not AS/400) that stands in between the 400 and things like Oracle, Sybase, & SQL Server.
