In OpsNav V5R1, under NetServer, you can display and reset the profiles that have been disabled for NetServer. ...Neil "William A.\(Tony\) Corbett" <corbett@ASRESOURCES.COM> To: "MIDRANGE-L@midrange. com" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: Re: Netserver logon Hi, I just ran into this one today. I agree with all the above posts, just adding mine. In this case, the NT network userid and the AS400 userid are the same, different passwords. It seems that there is a AS400 *USRPF and a separate (sort of) Netserver *USRPRF. When you bring up Win 9x, it'll try and map the drive, using the network userid and logon, until it hits your QMAXSIGN sysval, then will disable the Netserver *USRPRF. Now, you can't get the share to accept the password at all. You should see messages in qsysopr indicating that the Netserver userprf was disabled. The way to "beat" this is to jump on the AS400, CRTUSRPRF userid <enter> (no changes). This will reset the signon count and if you'll then enter the AS400 password into the netserver password prompt, it'll work. If you simply must use different passwords, then you can enter the AS400 password into the share password prompt "promptly" as Windows comes up, before it has a chance to try and fail QMAXSIGN times. Best is, of course, is to keep the passwords in sync. AS/Resources, Inc. William A.(Tony) Corbett
