DDM is probably not what you want.

DDM basically re-directs I/O from _this_ system to _that_ system.  So your
HLL program opens MASTER on system A (which is a DDM file) and instead of
updating data on system A, it updates the data on system B.  It's not a
copy; all the data resides on system B.
