Philipp,

Once you have managed to resolve your problems and all is well I would be
very grateful if you could give me a quick run down on potential pitfalls in
conversion.

We are planning to switch from token ring to Ethernet very soon. Other
AS400s in our company offices abroad are all on Ethernet. We were the only
site to be token ring. We use both SNA and TCPIP.

Thanks for the link Brian!

Thanks,

Jenny

format conversion

Philipp

The converted adress is the same, you are use a special combinations which
is the same for ethernet and tokenring.

I used the old (dos) reverse program, once part of pc-support

Subject: SNA Connection - need MAC Adress Ethernet to Token Ring format
conversion

Hello all,
Anybody out there still having the ClientAccess Version with
Netsoft-Router ? (Version <= 3.2)
We are trying to migrate an OS/2 Warp-Server from Token-Ring
SNA connection to Ethernet and ran into problems.
I am not on site and trying to help via phone.

Would someone "convert" the following mac-address for me ?

42003C002481 -- > ??

You can do so by configuring a test-connection with DLC-protocol
then you type in my mac address above and select to convert
the address (there is a checkbox for that) then the converted address
is shown in a second field in that dialog box.

Thanks a lot in advance.
Regards from germany,
Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Philipp Rusch
