Our corporation has just undergone an IT "assessment" by and external company. They have made quite a few recommendations directed at our LAN machines but failed to come up with much detail regarding our AS/400 (No surprise there!). One recommendation they did make is the information regarding the SMTP service running on the 400. They feel that there is too much information given (SMTP type & version) when someone telnets to our email service. Here is a sample of the info: --------------------------------------------------------- 220 S1037015.AS400.COM running IBM AS/400 SMTP V04R05M00 --------------------------------------------------------- So, my question is how is this turned off and/or modified? My supervisor thought he came across something stating that V5R1 addressed this very issue. Any ideas or links anyone can give will be appreciated! Thanks, Kyle
