Are you on V5R1M0?

I had this same thing a week ago after going to V5R1M0 and using the AS/400 as a
logon server. The only way to get it back was that rare thing for the AS/400 --
re-ipl. In our case after long enough all of TCP would die. Support line was
able to dial in and found that one particular PC (WinXP Pro) was sending
continuous requests to the AS/400 and it wasn't dealing with the situation
properly. A table some where was overflowing. If you do a NETSTAT and take
option 3 then see a lot of lines with Close-Wait status you probably have the
problem. We took the offending PC off the network and the developer had two
"Test" PTFs so the AS/400 would deal with the situation properly. You will have
to contact support line since the PTFs are not available for general download
and they have to release them for you.
