Mike - we do have a free product - rare I know for me to be promoting free
software !!

The product is called Inquiry/400 and enables you to define a 400 inquiry
rapidly and attach it to your end user menus.

They are fast to define, and obviously will take up some developer time, but
won't grind the 400 down as Query does.

If you go to our website www.origsoft.com and follow the URL to INQUIRY 400
download. You will need to fill in company name etc as
this is a way of getting names and email addresses - but I already have yours!!

Regards

Jamie Coles

(And I didn't even put in a plug for our Automated Testing Tools for the
iSeries400) !

Subject: query killing system

I was informed today that we had a user that created and ran a
query(query400) that creates a database file. Obviously there was a flaw in
their query and as a result disk usage shot up to over %90.

I 'm trying to figure out we can prevent this from happing in the future.
We do try to impower the users to create queries as we are a small shop, but
we can't have them bringing the sytem to its knees either.

I know i could change CHGQRYA on the time limit but not sure if that is the
best route.

Any ideas.

Thanks

Mike
