Hi Tony,

It does sound like a bug. Take a look at the Excel 97 help index for
"limits" and see if it says 65536 x 256. Also, without loading any records,
press F5 and enter A65530 and see what it does.  Maybe it runs out of memory
and fails to handle the error.

Or it may be the OS -- I'm using NT 4.0 build 1381 sp 6a, which imho is far
more stable than win9x, although possibly not as good as win2000.  I heard
Bill changed it from the BSOD to the WSOD <G>.
