Commitment was the answer to my question.  Next question is why only one row
is returned when doing a "Select *" from the table when there are 10 rows in
the table?

I've looked at the explanation for commitment & it gets explained about 100
pages further into the book.

the session & as soon as I close my session down (using SQLThing) the tables
& any changes I made disappear.  When I run the same exercises through
STRSQL, all is fine.
