There was(are) two ways to run S36 applications on the AS/400: 1. S36EE which allow the use of RPGII compiled on the 400 and the execution of S/36 procedures. The entire process of running a S/36 is "emulated" using any AS/400. 2. *M36 is the ability to run a working copy of SSP as a "host" operating system on any RISC Processor. This allowed folks to run "ANY" S/36 code without recompilation on the 400. It was/is a working version of SSP....
