They have their own IO for spool files. I am not going to spend hours trying
to figure out their code (the code appears to be computer generated, very
horrible to figure out) and modify it. I would rather spend one or two days
writing this new program, than (pulling out my quite used slingshot)
spending a week slinging code in to this program to see if it will work. If
you have ever worked with Lawson's code, you would understand what I am
talking about. This way I just have to submit the program that will be doing
the splitting and be done with it.

so, couldn't you close and reopen the printer file in the original program

time you wanted to create a new spool file?
