Hello Alister, The place to go is NetAttributes, have a look with DSPNETA and change it with CHGNETA (F4), you then have to IPL to make the change going active. Be VERY careful with this change ! There is a lot more links to this value than you probably think of ... First, let me advise you to change the LU and CP name of your system as well, if you have more than one system. Otherwise you have different names for the same system which differs from the real systemname - my experience is that operating staff gets totally confused about this. Second : Changing names in the context of LAN/WAN line, controller and device descriptions is not trivial, you have to go and inspect all your configs with your partners. This change is similar to installing a new machine, you should do a savcfg before if you destroy something during your change. Personally, I would ask myself, if this effort is worth it, simply for satisfying management ... :-) Regards from germany, Philipp Rusch MacWheel99@aol.com schrieb: > We are changing name of our company, so I am digging into all places where it > is stored, such as application software & communications contact pages (such > as the info that IBM gets when Send PTF Order does not work). > > Is there any FAQ check list of places to consider? > > OS/400 stores System Name some place ... right now it is CENTRAL > Many DDS plunk this into a standard location in upper left corner of > interactive screens, and it also shows up on SDA menus, but I forget exactly > where that place is that stores it ... it aint in WRKSYSVAL or WRKSYSCFG ... > I think it is communications network something & that is unfamiliar territory > for me. > > When I do find it, we will have to be careful about switchover timing ... our > PC LAN links to that name ... our trading partners dial into that name.
