Two things come to mind...

First, the message can result on a signon panel from pressing <Home> when the 
cursor is in the home position (at the beginning of the user profile field). 
The reason is from an obscure bit of 5250 stuff that's pretty well buried, but 
the reason is irrelevant... it happens.

So, any macro or record/playback that starts with <Home> could be the initial 
cause. There can be other causes such as generating a 5250 <Record Advance> or 
whatever the function is called.

Anyway, once the message is there, the question would be "Why isn't it 
cleared?" What line does the message appear on? Line 24 or 25? If it's on 25, 
maybe it simply isn't being cleared by later panels that have a message-line 
defined elsewhere. When signing off and returning to a signon display, is the 
message still there?
