Thanks, Joe-- but you know, I tried that, and got a compiler error that the
output size exceeded the end postition.  This didn't make sense, since the
end position was 190, and according to my calcs, 23 elements * 8 (field len
= 6, + 2 pos for decimal point and sign) = 184.
