Yeah. See, I saw this and while it's a right answer (DSPAPPNINF) it's not for the faint-of-heart or the un-prepared. You must then drill down and interpret... DSPNETA on each of the machines in question. It will generally have *NETNODE, or *ENDNODE listed. The only reason I brought it up, is that it may be the cause of the one machine having the files allocated even though all the machines are running QSNADS. Those files are the distribution queues and related directory stuff. A NETNODE machine is responsible for monitoring and routing in an APPN network for ENDNODES. SO ... if the machine is functioning as a *NETNODE and the rest are functioning as *ENDNODEs that might explain the discrepancy. The solution, either way, is still to end QSNADS prior to the backup. QUSRSYS contains system objects that contain user information and system objects that contain system information. A nasty combination. =========================================================== R.
