We are using our AS400 to transfer records from a Nortel DMS100 telephone switch into an AS400 billing system. We have established a dialup async line between the AS400 and the switch using 2 IBM 7855 modems. We can't get the line to automatically dial the remote modem but it can be done manually which works for now. The modems will connect with each other and the RPG program needs to send a 'BREAK' to start the terminal session. Once the switch receives the BREAK, it will begin a terminal sessions which allows the RPG program to logon and retrieve records. This same program runs just fine against another local switch but through a direct connect line using line drivers. We have used STRITF to test the definitions, line and modems. ITF has a built in BREAK function which works fine. The BREAK is either getting garbled or lost as the switch doesn't start the session and the program just sits waiting. We're stumped........ Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks, Bob.
