In a similar situation the only method that I could get to work reliably was to create a file on the AS/400.  Under  preset conditions we'd automatically FTP the file to a server that the Oracle box could then go to, to get the file.  (Do the FTP with "append".)  The Oracle people seemed very content with setting up their own process for retrieving the data from the FTP server.  

All the other methods I tried failed from time to time.  Usually we'd hear  "Uh oh, the Database is down!" in a pained voice.  Then when they were back and running, they'd get all the new information easily and automatically.

Good day --

How would YOU replicate data from tables in a DB2/400 database to table in a
SQL Server 7.0 database?

And how would you do it so that, say, it updates every 10 minutes? And it
does NOT completely replace the tables on every refresh. That is, it
replicates only new or changed or deleted records (can you replicate deleted
records? <grin>).

You ideas are solicited.
