So, in preparing for upgrade & in keeping each running smoothly, we need

Early study of "memo to users" to determine if there are any surprises we
need to plan around.

Order Cum PTFs relevant to any OS/400 release.
Re-Order group PTFs relevant to both that Cum & all our areas DB2 Save/Restore

Study software installation manual.
Extra backups.

Make sure we know how to call IBM if we gonna run into troubles during the
upgrade.

I have not done one of these upgrades all by myself in many years.
I used to do it on the S/36.
Then we had our IBM partners do it for me when we were new on AS/400.
But now there is a budget crunch & I can no longer pass the buck.
