Re: the hunt for cfint

INT in CFINTn stands for INTerrupt, not for INTeractive as you might think.
CFINTn tasks are used for many purposes - like I/O interrupt processing -
which cannot be easily attributed to any particular job or task.
On a busy system with lots of jobs, CFINT will be in 2-4% range. So what
you see is a quite healthy indicator.

I work on a 720, processor type 206C.  The 206C, ( a cpu type that I dont
find in my v4r5 system handbook)  is the feature that enables the 720 to
run interactive jobs w/o penalty.

But when I WrkSysAct, I see CFINT01 using 2, 3, 4 pct of the system.

The workload on this system is traditional batch and 5250 interactive.
Many remote users.  No web or domino serving.

And when I try to simulate heavy interactive cpu usage by signing onto 6 or
so terminals and running a pgm that continuously writes to the display, cpu
usage goes to 95 pct but CFINT stays in the 2 to 4 range.

What is CFINT on a 720/206C running in response to?
