To map a drive from the root downwards using CAE/NetServer, you will need to set up a share at the top level (i.e. /) - I normally call such shares Root - and then map your drive to \\MYAS400\Root. I don't think you can do it any other way in CAE land. I need to be able to map it to the AS/400 it self >(i.e. \\MYAS400) and not just a share on the system (i.e. >\\MYAS400\SHARENAME). We are running "Client Access Express" on the >workstations. I do it all the time. You need to start the AS400's Netserver, so it becomes a true Windows Networking file server. After that, you should be able to find the 400 in "My Network Places | Entire Network". david -- | Internet: david@midrange.com | WWW: http://david.falling-rock.org | | Expect me when you see me. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- Regards, Mandy Shaw Notability Solutions PLC Kingfisher House Frimley Business Park Camberley Surrey GU16 5SG UK http://www.Notability.com Email: Mandy.Shaw@Notability.com Telephone: +44 (0)870 166 1000 DDI: +44 870 166 1324 Facsimile: +44 870 168 3920 Mobile: +44 7710 447966 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Catalyst Solutions plc.
