Steve, I'm happily using Lotus Notes without any Domino server. The Rnext beta (all 126 megs) is available at www.notes.net. It has all the features you mention and more. In fairness though, I will admit to be being an IBM bigot. Microsoft has never made me a penny, they've only cost me. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ "Steve Richter" <srichter@AutoCoder.com> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 04/16/2001 03:15 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: what email client software is best? I use outlook express, win98 for emailing. ( dsl line to a local isp ) It is ok, but I would like the following features: 1. multiple address books. Ex. 1 for as400, another for personnel. 2. Be able to delete from the address book ( must be doing something wrong, but I cant delete an entry from my outlook express addr book ) 3. template support. When I start a new msg, I want to click an option to insert pre typed text containing say my name and title at the bottom of the msg. 4. Merge selected address book entries and a template msg to create and send a customized msg to each address book entry. Ex: "dear &1. pls join me in a banging your head against the wall exercise by asking ibm to continue support for client access/dos. send an email msg to the addr of this empty hole at as400 headquarters, xxxxxxx." I have outlook, un express, but have not loaded it. Does it have these features? thanks, Steve Richter as400, windows c++ contract programmer new york, new jersey. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
