  • Subject: Run Away Job QSQSRVR
  • From: "Dave Willenborg" <dwillenborg@xxxxxxxxx>

I am running an AS/400 Model 720, V4R4, latest CUM Package, and WebSphere
Standard edition.

This past week end, users could not sign onto the system. After
investigating the problem, DSPLOG shows that a new job for QSQSRVR was
starting up every 15-20 seconds. This started Friday after noon. This
continued into the next day. After numerous attempts to end the jobs and a
call to IBM after hours support, the subsystem QSYSWRK was end and the
system was re IPLed.

It appears that everything is running smoothly right now but I am
concerned about this happening again.

Has anyone every experienced this before and if so, how was it corrected?

I will be in contact with IBM support later this morning to see if they
were able to find anything with the dumps that were taken on Saturday.

TIA
