Take Micro$oft approach, replace it....No instead, boot to DOS, oh! win2K$ well reformat, lose everything and start from scratch. We use CISCO VPN client software to connect to a Compatible IntraPort 2 server. Easy to configure. The client software fits on a floppy. Contact me privately for more details. I think I said to much already. Christopher K. Thanks for the advice - in fact we have already established this - but I confess it hadn't occurred to me that it would work in this situation. Of course it would be a more effective solution if our Win 98 machine would actually load and run the VPN for two successive boots! Not to mention the fact that on my Win2K machine I can't install it right now because there are some "unknown devices" hanging off my adapter that Windows will not allow me to delete ("May be required to boot") and since they are a legacy from a previously screwed up attempt to modify the VPN software - guess what! the VPN can't be installed. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
